PANAVISION: BEHIND THE LENS

A professional development initiative designed for emerging and mid-career Directors, Producers, Creatives, Cinematographers, Camera Assistants, and screen practitioners.

Choose from two specialised workshops presented by Nic Godoy, National Sales and Marketing Manager at Panavision Australia. With 26 years of industry experience, Nic will use live cameras and a selection of Panavision lenses to demonstrate how optics influence perspective, depth, atmosphere, and visual storytelling. Combining creative insight with technical expertise, these hands-on sessions offer practical knowledge for filmmakers at every stage.

Directors & Creatives

Explore the creative foundations of optics, visual storytelling, and film language. This session covers key pre-production practices, including developing treatments, understanding lens characteristics, and testing techniques to help Directors and Creatives communicate their vision effectively with Cinematographers and Heads of Department.

Designed for Cinematographers, Camera Assistants, post-production professionals, and technical crew, this advanced session explores spherical, anamorphic, large format, and Super 35 lenses, along
with Panavision's latest approaches to lens modification and customisation.

This workshop is designed specifically for people who have never networked and want a starting point on how to navigate networking events, how to speak to Screen Industry professionals and how to connect with others. It is suitable for High School and University Students, recent graduates and those who have never stepped foot into a creative industries event. Join Moneth Montemayor and a Screen Industry friend who will present their tips and tricks for networking.
